CVCP #5 – What can we do?

Sorry there is no interview for this episode. I’ve been real busy with work and haven’t been able to get one “in the can” so to speak. Rest assured I have lots of exciting things coming up in future episodes. In the meantime, what sorts of things can we the lay faithful do to increase vocations? Also, some feedback from a fellow podcaster and a beautiful prayer we should all be praying and teaching our children.

 Prayer for Vocations

Heavenly Father, bless your Church with an abundance of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers and sisters.

Give those you have called to the married state and those you have chosen to live as single persons in the world, the special graces that their lives require.

Form us all in the likeness of your Son so that in him, with him and through him we may love you more deeply and serve you more faithfully, always and everywhere. With Mary we ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer for Guardian Angel

Dear Angel ever at my side,
how loving you must be.
Please whisper to your loving
child, what God wants me to be.
Amen

Seven new seminarians accepted for priestly studies in the Diocese of Little Rock

Yes, that’s right! Seven young men have been started the formation process to become priests in the Diocese of Little Rock.

The Diocese of Little Rock has accepted seven new seminarians, including three who were born in other countries, vocation director Msgr. Scott Friend announced.

This is awesome news from Arkansas. It seems that news like this is starting to become the rule, rather than the exception. More and more you are hearing of Dioceses across the country accepting lager numbers of men into the formation process. Let’s hope the trend keeps up. But, it’s going to take more than just hope. It’s going to take prayers. It’s also going to take parents who are willing to foster the vocations their sons might have inside their hearts. Let’s keep it up!
